Scouting

Our area Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are active with their fundraisers right now. The Boy Scouts are delivering popcorn, and the food drive is evident with white bags hanging on front doors. The Girl Scouts are taking orders for magazines and snacks.

Thank you for your support of these programs.

Please come out and enjoy the Festival of Lights. It is scheduled for Saturday, December 4, and will be held at the County Courthouse in uptown Jackson.

Christmas House Tours

The holiday season is fast approaching. I've seen some signs around town for home tours. I've never participated.

What's your thoughts on these events?

Scenic Route

When going from Jackson to the west side of Cape, I often take County Road 318 to get from Highway 25 South to Route K.

Right now, the fall colors on display are a great distraction from the daily stress and a pleasant alternative to the busy main roads.

What is your favorite route on the country roads?

General Election 2010

It is the day after, and I am wondering what you think!

Were you particularly excited about any of the results? Particularly upset?

Personally, I was very glad to see that over 50% of the registered voters turned out to cast their ballot. Thank you, dedicated patriots of Cape Girardeau County!

Looks Easy, but it's not

I thought this blog thing would be easier that it is. I guess if I just wasn't so dog-gone busy, it could be.

I am going to try a new tactic. I was really hoping for community participation through the comment section, and that hasn't materialized. Maybe I just need to be more direct. Let's try this:

What do you think of the new intersection in front of South Elementary?
