Ice Storm

What comes to my mind when looking at the affects of the ice storm that hit our area on Monday, Febuary 12, is how little control we have when it comes to the forces of mother nature.

I have been without power or heat for most of the past 24 hours, and I am writing this from nearby Cape. The power may be on now at my home in Jackson, but I took precautions just the same. I'll retun tomorrow morning to check on things.

How did you fair?

Well, the ice was a surprise to many of us in Jackson. KFVS called it the ice storm of 08' and many children received an extra week off from classes :-)

Today it seemed to rain forever and ever. On my drive to SEMO this morning some rodes were actually closed. KFVS reported a record setting 10 inches at 6 o'clock

If this trend keeps up we might see reported by KFVS the hottest summer on record. That seems to be the next respective issue so get ready to make many trips down to sonic for happy hour drinks!!
